Sevastianos Maillis is a self-taught artist and a student of Chen Style Taijiquan Practical Method (陈式太极拳实用拳法). As a graffiti artist in search of inspiration and with a wish to turn to more environmentally friendly materials, he started experimenting with different means, methods, and approaches, inspired by the ancient traditional Masters. While creating his artworks, the artist uses Oriental art elements in an abstract and lively manner, that imprints bold vivid colors and shadow variations on Xuan or watercolor paper.

For the artist, painting is a way to connect to his heart while creating from a state of inner freedom. His artworks depict unique moments of self-realization and understanding of life, images expressing the rhythm of nature, human characters interacting with nature, animal forms, imaginary landscapes, and other themes as a parallelism to everyday life. The images created as a release method towards self-discovery also portray the artist's emotional signature-seal at the given time.

The artist's goal is to capture the essence of each revealing painting in connection with nature and even inspire people to develop a love for creativity in their life.
